Temporary Power to Support the Grid

An important power plant in Melilla, Spain was installing new generators at their site. During the installation process, sizeable losses of power were expected.

Aggreko initially installed 5 MW of power to supply the necessary back up power. During the installation period, power demand in the area drastically increased. Aggreko immediately increased the temporary power supply to 11 MW to compensate for the change in power demand. The customer’s grid base load station was fully manned by Aggreko for three years.

Aggreko’s temporary power supply allowed the grid station to meet demand without any disruption. Aggreko’s reliability, quick response and flexibility to provide additional equipment successfully maintained operations for the plant.
