21 September 2011, New Delhi, India – Aggreko, the world leader in the provision of temporary power and temperature control services has announced the opening of its second depot in India, as part of the company’s continued expansion in the country. Located in Manesar, 40 kilometres south west of New Delhi, the new facility will enable Aggreko to meet the demands for rental power and temperature control in India’s northern, central and eastern states.
The new depot will primarily serve the oil and gas and manufacturing sectors around New Delhi, yet will also bring Aggreko's turn-key rental packages to the mining, construction and events industries. A key benefit of such packages is in helping companies deal with power outages and load shedding, guaranteeing their power supplies and reducing the risks and financial losses associated with operating in areas with unreliable power infrastructure. Customers will be able to benefit from Aggreko’s worldwide experience in the rapid provision of temporary power and temperature control solutions that enable mission critical business processes to remain up and running when grid power is unavailable, when supply from the grid is inconsistent, or in the event of plant equipment break downs.
“The Indian market is an important focus for Aggreko. This can be demonstrated by our significant investment in the country since we opened our first depot in Wagholi, near Pune, in 2009,” commented Debajit Das, Managing Director, Aggreko Asia. “The opening of our second depot gives us an immense opportunity to further support local industry and to help drive economic growth in a region where power outages are commonplace.”
In addition to temperature control and other ancillary power equipment, the Manesar depot will stock a range of power generators from 250 kVA to 1250 kVA, with a combined fleet output of 50 MW. This is enough energy to power 190,000 Indian households simultaneously.
Abid Ahmed, Country Manager, Aggreko India, said: “The Aggreko operations in Manesar are world class in terms of the equipment and systems we have in place. Our reputation for reliability, service and rapid response to our customer’s requirements has ensured that we have many of India’s largest and most successful companies among our customer base. With the Indian economy growing at such a phenomenal rate, it is vital that industry has access to high quality, reliable power from a world renowned supplier such as Aggreko.”
