Aggreko Powers Leading Polyester Manufacturer
Bazpur, India - 12 January
2011: Aggreko, the global leader in the supply of temporary power and temperature control services, has commissioned a
7 MW power package for Polyplex Corporation Ltd. to ensure
continued production of their manufacturing plant located at
Bazpur, Uttrakhand in the north of India.
Polyplex Corporation Ltd., the
world’s 4th largest polyester film manufacturing
company, was informed that it would take several months to connect
its facility to the local utility grid. Without sufficient power
supplies, Polyplex was facing a delay in production which could
have significantly affected its profitability.
After examining the options available, Polyplex opted to
contract Aggreko to provide a turn-key power rental solution until
the facility could be connected to a permanent power source.
Aggreko provided a 7 MW diesel-fueled power package, complete with
all ancillaries, which was installed within just three weeks of
contract signature. As a turn-key power provider, Aggreko has
remained responsible for the operation of the project, with
technicians available on-site 24 hours a day to ensure a fault-less
power supply.
Commenting on the project, Abid Ahmed, Country Manager, India,
said: “This project demonstrates our ability to provide
manufacturers with a cost-effective alternative to purchasing power
generation equipment to relieve temporary power problems. I am
confident more manufacturers in India will see the possibilities
offered by a turn-key rental power provider like Aggreko.”
On the decision to award the power contract to Aggreko, Mr R.P.
Yadav, Head - Projects, Polyplex Corporation Ltd. said, “We had
worked with Aggreko in the past when one of our manufacturing
facilities in Turkey required power services. We were extremely
satisfied with Aggreko’s delivery and execution of the project and
are proud to extend our association with the company for a second
time.”
