Abid Ahmed to Spearhead Aggreko’s Business in India
Mumbai, India - April 2010 Aggreko, the global
leader in the provision of temporary
power and temperature control
services, has appointed Mr. Abid Ahmed as the new Country Manager
for Aggreko India. Mr. Ahmed will be
responsible for the overall management and growth of the business
in India and will be based in Pune.
With over 14 years of work experience in India besides overseas
markets including the USA and Hong Kong, he brings to Aggreko a
rich and varied experience. Speaking on his appointment, Mr. Ahmed
– Country Manager, Aggreko India said, “I am looking forward to
working with Aggreko, which is the world leader in its field. With
the concept of temporary power solutions being fairly new to India,
we are looking forward to replicating Aggreko’s well known business
practices in our country. India is an important market for Aggreko,
and we will strengthen our focus on the region.”
Aggreko’s first depot opened in India
in September 2009 and is located in Wagholi, Pune. The company
marked an initial investment of INR 300 million for the market.
Moving on from his role as Managing Director of Pentair – India,
where he was instrumental in setting up Pentair Technical Product
Greenfield business in India, Mr. Ahmed joins Aggreko ready to take
forward the company’s business opportunities for the market. He has
worked with Pentair Inc, for several years in
assignments such as Project Manager (Special Water Technologies);
Director, Strategic Marketing & Co-ordination for Growth
Initiative based in USA. Further, Mr. Ahmed has worked in Product
Development with Emerson Electric for two years based out of Hong
Kong and with Daewoo Motors - India in Engineering & Product
Development.
Mr. Ahmed holds a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from
HBTI Kanpur University in India and Master in Business
Administration from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern
University Chicago US.
