Pune, 29th September 2009 –
Aggreko, the global leader in the provision of rental power and
temperature control services, today announced the opening of its
first depot in India located at Wagholi Village in Pune. The depot
represents part of Aggreko’s initial investment of 300 Million INR
in India and will cater to India’s growing demand for temporary
power. Aggreko has entered the Indian market earlier this year
through the takeover of Cummins India Ltd.’s Power Rental
business.
The depot was officially
inaugurated by Mr. Kash Pandya, Managing Director, Aggreko
International and James Shepherd, Managing Director, South and West
Asia. The depot will provide temporary power for industries such as
manufacturing, oil and gas, shipping, process industries, mining
and construction, as well as for major sporting events. Aggreko,
with over 45 years experience in power rental, can provide
multi-megawatt power projects to support the rapid growth of India
and to assist in overcoming capacity constraints.

45 years experience offering 24/7 services to a wide range of
industries in over 133 locations spread over 100 countries, Aggreko

in India, Mr. James Shepherd, Managing Director, South and West
Asia, said, “We will have a multi-hub system with depots located in
strategic cities across India. Starting with our first depot in
Pune which will service our customers in West India, our Chennai
depot will follow soon to take care of the South market. Going
forward we plan to open service operations in Delhi and Kolkata by
end of 2010 to cater to our customers in North and East India
respectively. Our goal is to provide excellent service to our
customers across the country and to be the only rental power
supplier who can offer 24/7 service support anywhere in India, even
at a short notice.”
Aggreko has provided turn-key power
packages for customers in a variety of industries, including ABB,
BG Group, Conoco Phillips, Fluor, IBM, Samsung, Shell and Tata
Chemicals. Along with providing power for industrial uses, Aggreko
is also the first choice in power for major sporting events. In the
