Aggreko plc, global leader in the
provision of temporary power and temperature control services, has
been awarded a contract for the provision of temporary power and
cooling equipment for the Dubai International Boat Show 2008. The
contract, awarded by the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), has been
awarded to Aggreko for the third consecutive year, further
establishing Aggreko’s reputation as the first choice for reliable
temporary power and cooling solutions in the Middle East.
The Dubai International Boat Show
(DIBS) is the largest event of its kind in the region, showcasing
boats from local and international builders, together with the
latest innovations in marine equipment, supplies and services. From
472 represented countries in 2006 to 722 represented companies in
2007, DIBS has grown even further and will host the largest number
of companies and visitors to date. The five-day event is a
highlight of the Dubai social calendar, and will be held at the
Dubai International Marine Club next to the Meridian Mina Seyahi
and the Palm Jumeriah.
DWTC approached Aggreko
to provide a complete turn-key solution of 6 MW of temporary power
and 6 MW of cooling equipment including fuel management and
engineering support for four of its on-site tents erected at the
show. Previous work experience and extensive industry knowledge
helped Aggreko win the contract, as well as the availability of its
depot, warehouses and service teams, located less than 30
kilometers away in the Jebel Ali Free Zone.
“We are extremely pleased
to be associated with and to support an event of global repute for
the third time in a row. We are geared towards achieving success
for the event by ensuring uninterrupted power and continuous
on-site presence,” said Phil Burns, Aggreko Middle East Area
Director. “Our contribution to this remarkable event grows in
tandem with the event itself and we look forward to a continued
association. This year’s show will be the largest so far in terms
of size and the number of exhibitors. This not only reflects its
worldwide significance but highlights its growing international
appeal and we are proud to be part of this,” he added.
“Aggreko’s commitment and
involvement right from the installation phase till the event
closure has led to successful execution of our previous shows. I am
sure reliable power from Aggreko will assist us in the staging of
this important event,” said Mr. Mohamed El Moghazi, Dubai World
Trade Centre.
Aggreko’s extensive
experience in providing services to major events has recently led
to Aggreko being appointed as exclusive supplier for power and
temperature control at the Beijing 2008 Olympics, where Aggreko
will be providing over 160MVA of power across 40 competition and
non-competition venues in the region. Aggreko's team provides 24/7
service support to ensure stability and reliability of power and is
committed to ensuring that the events are a success and power and
temperature control solutions are customised to the project’s
specific requirements.
